Lucid Diagnostics Gains Coverage for EsoGuard Cancer Screening
Patients meeting American College of Gastroenterology screening criteria now have a pathway to coverage for the EsoGuard DNA test. Concert, a healthcare technology firm acquired by Lyric, issued a positive policy effective July 2026, designating the non-invasive diagnostic as the only test of its kind to meet their clinical requirements.
The coverage policy relies on peer-reviewed literature and established guidelines to confirm the test’s efficacy in improving health outcomes. By setting these standards, Concert provides a framework that its network of client health plans can adopt, streamlining the reimbursement process for providers and patients. Several of these client plans have already implemented the policy.
Lishan Aklog, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Lucid Diagnostics, noted that the move signals a broader trend toward commercial accessibility for the test. The company continues to negotiate with insurers and benefit managers nationwide to expand coverage for the diagnostic, which targets patients suffering from chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease at risk for esophageal cancer.
