Corner Bakery Cafe leans into bakery roots for National Sandwich Month
Since its 1991 founding in a Chicago storefront, Corner Bakery Cafe has built its reputation on artisan loaves and house-made sweets. This August, the chain is leveraging National Sandwich Month to draw attention back to that heritage, highlighting signature paninis and sandwiches as core drivers of its neighborhood cafe model.

The brand is spotlighting menu mainstays such as the Uptown Turkey Avocado, the Chicken Pomodori Panini, and the BBLT to reinforce its commitment to fresh ingredients. According to Erin Hasselgren, president of Corner Bakery Cafe, focusing on these staples aligns with the company’s original goal of prioritizing high-quality, kitchen-crafted meals over convenience-first alternatives.
To drive traffic through the month, the chain is promoting a "Choose 2" deal starting at $6.99, allowing customers to mix and match sandwiches with soups, salads, or pastas. Beyond individual dining, the company is targeting the catering sector with a $30 discount on orders totaling $300 or more. These promotions are designed to capture both the lunch crowd and larger office groups across the brand’s 18-state footprint.
