FRCF and CSX Distribute 13,000 Toys During Upstate New York Night Out
Thirteen thousand toys reached children across the Albany region yesterday as part of a collaborative effort between the First Responders Children's Foundation and CSX. The distribution took place during National Night Out, a synchronized initiative spanning 18 local events designed to strengthen bonds between law enforcement and the residents they serve.
The festivities transformed public spaces into hubs of engagement, featuring bounce castles, rock climbing, and K-9 demonstrations. Beyond the entertainment, these gatherings provided children with direct access to emergency vehicles and equipment, fostering personal connections with the officers who work in their neighborhoods. This regional push is part of a broader national campaign that has delivered over 34,000 toys across 13 states this year.
Jillian Crane, President and CEO of the First Responders Children's Foundation, noted that the partnership with CSX is vital for maintaining community engagement efforts year-round. Angela Costa, Senior Manager of Community Investment at CSX, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that supporting first responders is synonymous with supporting the families who enable their service. The foundation, which originated 25 years ago following the 9/11 attacks, continues to focus on scholarships, financial grants, and mental health resources for families of those lost or injured in the line of duty.
