ISA Awards $62,000 to Global Automation Students
A total of 62,000 USD has been distributed among 31 university students across seven countries, marking the International Society of Automation's 2026 scholarship cycle. The funding targets individuals demonstrating long-range potential in instrumentation, systems, and control, providing essential support for their ongoing research and tuition costs.
The 2026 cohort represents a diverse academic landscape, ranging from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States to Tsinghua University in China and Sultan Qaboos University in Oman. These awards, administered through both named endowments and the General Education Fund, aim to foster the next generation of technical expertise in a field central to modern infrastructure.
ISA CEO Claire Fallon emphasized that investing in these students is fundamental to the society's mission of advancing global automation. Among the named endowment recipients are Luis Matias Jimenez Sanchez of Universidad de las Américas, Lauren Fortier of MIT, and Tanishka Manoj Dixit of Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology. The remaining 28 scholars hail from institutions including the University of Alberta, the University of Minnesota, and REVA University in India, with the selection process highlighting candidates expected to make significant contributions to industrial and systems engineering.
