Dona Nesselhuf Named CEO of Strider Sports International

Nesselhuf, who first joined the balance bike company in 2013, has been credited with professionalizing the firm’s internal architecture. During her tenure as COO, she oversaw the hiring of the current staff and implemented organizational processes that helped double the company’s annual revenue. Her background in the industry spans over two decades, including a decades-old professional relationship with McFarland that dates back to her time as the first wholesale purchaser for his original invention, the Thudbuster seatpost.

McFarland, who founded the company in 2007 to help his young son learn to ride, characterized the promotion as a necessary evolution for the business. He noted that Nesselhuf’s leadership was essential in transforming Strider from a small startup into a structured corporation. With more than 4 million bikes sold across 75 countries, the company now looks to Nesselhuf to manage its next phase of global expansion while maintaining its core focus on early childhood cycling.
