Rocket Companies Posts Profit Growth Amidst Tough Housing Market
Detroit-based homeownership platform Rocket Companies reported a GAAP net income of $229 million for the second quarter of 2026, marking its most profitable performance in four years despite facing one of the most challenging spring housing markets in recent memory.

CEO Varun Krishna attributed the resilience to a structural shift in the company's business model, which now integrates home search, loan origination, and servicing into a single AI-driven ecosystem. During the quarter, the firm achieved record market share in both purchase and refinance sectors. The company reported $2.78 billion in total revenue and $766 million in adjusted EBITDA, supported by a significant expansion in its home equity lending business, where Rocket has become the nation's leading independent provider.
Operational efficiency gains were bolstered by the company's AI Voice platform, which handled over one million inbound calls within three months of launch. Additionally, a major servicing migration has unified clients onto a single platform, while a successful $1.5 billion senior note offering further solidified the firm's capital position. Looking ahead to the third quarter of 2026, the company projects adjusted revenue between $2.5 billion and $2.7 billion.
