QuidelOrtho Corporation reported a 3% revenue increase for the second quarter of 2026, reaching $631 million, yet the company simultaneously downgraded its full-year financial guidance. While global operations outside of China saw a robust 6% growth, the domestic challenges in that market heavily weighed on the company’s bottom line. CEO Brian J. Blaser noted that the combination of new in vitro diagnostics pricing guidelines and a softer global respiratory environment necessitated a shift in expectations for the remainder of the year. Consequently, the company has lowered its full-year revenue forecast to a range of $2.52–$2.60 billion, down from its previous projection of $2.70–$2.75 billion.

Financial strain was evident in the company's GAAP results, which posted a net loss of $93 million for the quarter. In response to the volatility and ongoing uncertainty regarding working capital, QuidelOrtho has withdrawn its free cash flow guidance entirely. Despite these setbacks, the Point of Care segment proved resilient, delivering 16% growth. Management emphasized that their primary focus remains on strengthening the balance sheet and navigating these complex market dynamics to stabilize future operations.
