Healthcare systems are abandoning fragmented, standalone applications in favor of enterprise-wide platforms that unify electronic health records, predictive analytics, and remote patient monitoring. This transition is largely fueled by the global shift toward value-based care, where providers are under increasing pressure to improve clinical outcomes while trimming operational costs. Software remains the dominant component of this ecosystem, capturing 82% of the market share in 2025 as organizations invest in cloud-based infrastructure to handle rising volumes of patient data.

North America currently leads the adoption curve, accounting for over half of the market share. However, the Asia Pacific region is expected to see the fastest growth, supported by aggressive government digitization efforts. India’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission serves as a primary example, having linked over 100 crore health records by mid-2026 to facilitate a more cohesive, longitudinal approach to patient treatment. As AI and machine learning models continue to mature, these tools are becoming essential for identifying high-risk groups and automating workflows across hospitals, ambulatory centers, and home-based care providers.
