Kate Mihevc Edwards brings elite-level injury care to recreational runners
Recreational runners often struggle to find coordinated care, leaving them to navigate fragmented medical advice alone. Dr. Kate Mihevc Edwards, director of the Atlanta Track Club’s medical team, is addressing this gap with RunSource, a new mobile application that centralizes expert-vetted protocols and specialized guidance for the everyday athlete.

Launched in June 2026, the platform bridges the divide between elite athletic support and the average runner. The app aggregates content from over 40 vetted professionals—including physical therapists, sports medicine doctors, and dietitians—ensuring that every recovery plan or training recommendation passes what Edwards calls an "expert filter." This approach aims to replace the unreliable results of general web searches with peer-reviewed protocols and clinical expertise.
Technologically, the application utilizes two proprietary AI agents to assist users. Katherine acts as a symptom checker, guiding runners through protocols derived from Edwards’ own clinical practice to determine if professional intervention is required. Andrew provides evidence-based responses to inquiries regarding nutrition, training loads, and recovery, pulling exclusively from curated medical literature rather than broad internet datasets.
Available on iOS and Android for $14.99 per month, the platform is structured to be accessible via Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts through a partnership with TruMed. By scaling the multidisciplinary model she utilizes at Atlanta’s Precision Performance and Physical Therapy, Edwards provides a digital infrastructure that functions as a bridge to, rather than a replacement for, in-person medical care.
