Stoneridge Unveils EVO Platform to Centralize Commercial Vehicle Control

Stoneridge is set to debut its EVO ECU platform at the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition in Hanover this September. The system is engineered to replace fragmented vehicle electronics with a centralized, high-performance architecture, aiming to simplify software-defined capabilities for trucks, buses, and off-highway equipment in increasingly complex operating environments.

The EVO platform addresses the industry-wide challenge of managing mounting vehicle complexity. By consolidating processing power, Stoneridge enables manufacturers to move away from traditional, multi-unit electronic architectures. This shift supports faster software updates, more efficient diagnostics, and the integration of advanced features—such as driver assistance systems and AI-driven applications—without requiring extensive hardware modifications.

Development focused heavily on modularity and security. Through partnerships with Green Hills Software, Renesas Electronics, and indie Semiconductor, Stoneridge integrated automotive-grade processing with a multi-layered security framework. The system is built to survive harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures and vibration. Christian Leblanc, Global Vice President of Product and Project Management, noted that the platform was designed to give fleet operators the flexibility to adapt to evolving technology while reducing maintenance downtime. The technology has already undergone validation on the company’s Innovation Truck, which will be on display alongside the platform at Hall 21, Stand C44 during the IAA event.
