Global tech talent competition draws 1,200 teams to Hefei

The massive influx of talent highlights Hefei’s growing status as a hub for scientific research and commercial application. Organizers at GUiTEK Service Platform are facilitating this transition by offering participants access to startup loans, tech-focused financial products, and industrial chain resources. Crucially, the city is providing free accommodation to attract these researchers, many of whom hold doctoral or master’s degrees in high-stakes fields.

The scope of the projects reflects current global technology trends. Of the registered entries, 555 focus on artificial intelligence, commercial aviation, and the low-altitude economy. Another 146 projects target emerging frontiers such as quantum technology and embodied intelligence. With appraisal rounds beginning in late August, these teams are preparing to present their work before the September finals. For Anhui Province, the competition serves as a strategic mechanism to bridge the gap between academic innovation and market-ready industrial production.
