For the fourth year running, Austin-based Alafair Biosciences has earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list. The medical device manufacturer, which specializes in biopolymer technology for orthopedic soft-tissue protection, continues its streak of rapid revenue growth while scaling its surgical product portfolio.
The company’s latest inclusion in the ranking follows the commercial launch of VersaCoat™ Flowable Hydrogel. This new product utilizes the firm’s proprietary VersaCore™ technology, delivered via syringe to provide a bioresorbable gliding interface for complex, hard-to-reach anatomy. It serves to limit postoperative tethering in procedures involving tendons, ligaments, and peripheral nerves.
This expansion builds upon the clinical success of the VersaWrap® Hydrogel Sheet, which has been utilized in over 40,000 implants. According to President and CEO John Joyoprayitno, the consistent recognition on the Inc. 5000 list serves as validation for the company's momentum and its focus on providing surgeons with practical tools for tissue management. The business continues to prioritize the development of materials that support natural mobility during the healing process, moving away from traditional animal- or human-derived implants.
