Emergent BioSolutions Faces Securities Probe Following Guidance Cut
Emergent BioSolutions is under scrutiny from securities litigators after the company slashed its fiscal 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook to $130–$150 million. The investigation centers on whether management provided misleading information regarding NARCAN pricing and market competition before the sudden downward revision triggered a decline in shareholder value.
The legal inquiry, launched by the firm SueWallSt, targets statements made by the company on February 26 and April 30, 2026. During these periods, Emergent management reaffirmed optimistic financial guidance despite internal metrics showing NARCAN gross margins had cratered to 16%. The company subsequently recorded a $191.3 million non-cash impairment charge, citing intensifying generic competition and persistent pricing pressure that management had previously claimed were stabilized.
Investigators are now examining whether these disclosures failed to reflect the true cost pressures facing the firm. Investors who purchased shares between the initial February forecast and the August 5 guidance reduction are being encouraged to submit brokerage records for a case evaluation. The firm, a division of Levi & Korsinsky LLP, is assessing whether these earlier assertions artificially inflated the company's stock price, leading to financial losses for shareholders.
