Bio-Techne Reports Stable Fiscal Year Revenue Amid Pending Acquisition
Bio-Techne Corporation reported flat full-year revenue of $1.2 billion for fiscal 2026, even as it prepares for an $11.3 billion acquisition by Merck KGaA. The Minneapolis-based life sciences firm saw fourth-quarter organic revenue rise 3%, signaling steady demand for its research reagents and diagnostic platforms during the transition period.

The company’s fourth-quarter net sales reached $321.2 million, a 1% increase compared to the same period last year. While GAAP earnings per share rose to $0.35 from a loss of $0.11 in the previous year's quarter, adjusted earnings per share saw a slight dip to $0.52 from $0.53. For the full fiscal year, GAAP earnings reached $1.16 per share, a significant turnaround from the $0.46 reported in 2025.
Operational performance was supported by profitability initiatives and the divestiture of Exosome Diagnostics, which helped offset headwinds in product mix and volume. The Protein Sciences segment, a primary supplier of specialized proteins and antibodies, recorded $874.6 million in full-year sales, while the Diagnostics and Spatial Biology segment generated $336.4 million. As the company moves toward closing the deal with Darmstadt-based Merck KGaA for $73 per share, management has discontinued its practice of holding quarterly investor conference calls.
