Tinuiti and Guideline Challenge Agency Buying Power Myths
The long-standing industry assumption that independent media agencies lack the scale to secure competitive ad pricing is facing a direct challenge. A new partnership between data firm Guideline and independent agency Tinuiti shows that objective market benchmarks, rather than perceived size, are now the primary driver of media cost advantages.

By integrating verified market data into its operations, Tinuiti has demonstrated double-digit cost advantages across several key media channels. This collaboration moves the industry away from reliance on self-reported performance metrics or modeled estimates, favoring transparent, third-party validation to gauge agency effectiveness.
Tinuiti, which manages over $4.5 billion in media, has joined Guideline’s partner ecosystem to contribute strategic data to the Ad Intelligence product. For marketers, this shift offers a way to move beyond agency size as the sole indicator of leverage. Instead, brands can now compare investment outcomes against independent intelligence to maximize the value of their advertising spend.
"Access to independent market intelligence gives us a clearer view of broader advertising trends and competitive benchmarks," said Jeremy Cornfeldt, President of Tinuiti. For Guideline, the partnership reinforces the reliability of its platform, which currently manages over $300 billion in media budgets globally. By replacing agency-claimed leverage with verifiable market dynamics, the companies aim to foster a more accountable environment for global media investments.
