HALO AirFinance Raises $390 Million in Debut Aviation Loan ABS

Investors swarmed the debut securitization from HALO AirFinance, driving demand for the $390.2 million aviation loan offering to more than four times the available supply. The joint venture between GA Telesis and Tokyo Century successfully closed the deal on August 6, securing the tightest spreads for an inaugural issuer.

The transaction, known as HALOAN 2026-1, consists of four classes of fixed-rate secured notes rated by KBRA with a legal final maturity set for August 2041. The offering includes $295.37 million in AA-rated Class A notes, alongside tiered tranches ranging from A to BB- ratings. Proceeds from the sale are earmarked for a portfolio of 33 loans, covering 14 narrowbody aircraft, two widebodies, two freighters, and 15 engines. These assets are spread across 21 operators in 14 different jurisdictions.

Marc Cho, Co-Head of HALO, pointed to the heavy oversubscription as a clear signal of investor confidence, noting the deal held firm despite volatile market conditions. The issuance serves as a cornerstone for the platform’s growth, establishing a repeatable capital markets framework. Citi spearheaded the deal as sole structuring agent and lead bookrunner, supported by Mizuho and Citizens. Legal advisory for the issuance was handled by Vedder Price for the issuer and Milbank for the underwriters.
