Eclipse Accessory Aims to Simplify Subwoofer Mounting and Protection
Gary-based inventor has designed a patent-pending mounting system intended to reinforce subwoofer enclosures and streamline speaker installation. Known as the Eclipse, the accessory provides a durable framework for both new cabinets and damaged boxes where traditional mounting holes have become stripped from repeated use or heavy vibration.
The invention functions by surrounding the perimeter of a speaker opening, creating a robust connection point that protects the cabinet material from cracking. By securing the speaker through this interface, users can quickly detach or install components, a feature geared toward both competitive audio enthusiasts and home sound system hobbyists. The design seeks to solve the common issue of cabinet degradation caused by frequent speaker swaps or the wear of standard hardware.
Currently, the invention is available for licensing or acquisition through InventHelp, a firm based in Pittsburgh that manages the submission process. A prototype and detailed technical drawings have been finalized to demonstrate the mounting mechanism’s viability for commercial and residential applications.
