SWI Group Pivots to AI Infrastructure with Genesis Digital Acquisition

With over 80% of its capital now committed to digital infrastructure, the Amsterdam-listed investment firm SWI Group has finalized a controlling stake in Genesis Digital Assets. The acquisition serves as the foundation for SWI Digital, a new US-based platform designed to anchor the group's expansion into high-performance computing and AI-ready data centers.

The strategic overhaul, executed under co-founders Max-Hervé George and Jaume Sabater, signals a departure from broader private market holdings toward a vertically integrated digital stack. By acquiring over 70% of Genesis Digital Assets, the group secures a massive land bank and power capacity in the United States, complementing its existing European portfolio, AiOnX. Combined, these assets represent a footprint exceeding 4 gigawatts, with management targeting a 90% capital allocation to the sector.

Beyond physical infrastructure, SWI Group is moving into GPU-as-a-service to provide compute power directly to AI developers and research institutions. This shift coincides with a restructured relationship with Polarise, which will now function as a financing arrangement rather than a full acquisition. While the group maintains legacy interests in industrial real estate and residential assets, the 2026 growth outlook is tethered to this rapid scaling of AI infrastructure. The group expects to deliver double-digit growth as it leverages its balance sheet to capitalize on the increasing demand for high-performance computing capacity.
