Axtria Targets 1,000-Person AI Engineering Force for Pharma

The expansion addresses a persistent bottleneck in the pharmaceutical sector: the gap between high-level generative AI investments and the technical expertise required to implement them. While many organizations struggle to bridge the divide between domain-specific business knowledge and rapid-fire AI development, Axtria intends to consolidate these skills within a single unit. The company is using its internal training arm, the Axtria Institute, to certify existing life sciences experts as AI engineers, while simultaneously recruiting external talent.

These engineers will be tasked with deploying production-grade solutions across cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft, and Snowflake. According to CTO and co-founder Navi Chadha, the current industry climate demands execution over experimentation. By embedding these engineers directly into client organizations, Axtria aims to move beyond pilot programs to integrate proprietary platforms like SalesIQ and DataMAx into everyday decision-making workflows. Managing Principal Manish Mittal noted that the investment represents a dual-track strategy: nurturing internal domain experts while capturing top-tier engineering talent from the broader market.
