Novig Codifies Responsible Trading Standards Into Federal Rulebook

Novig has become the first platform to integrate a comprehensive responsible trading framework directly into the rulebook of a federally regulated prediction market exchange. By embedding these standards into Chapter 14 of the Ludlow Exchange, the company shifts the burden of consumer protection from the user to the platform operator.

The framework mandates strict operational requirements for product design, marketing, and participant monitoring. Central to these changes is a nationwide 21+ age verification policy, which includes mechanisms for re-verification and account suspension to prevent underage access. Beyond age restrictions, the rules grant participants granular control over their accounts, enabling them to set hard limits on deposits, losses, and exposure. Users can also trigger cooling-off periods or initiate self-exclusion, with mandatory delays preventing the impulsive reversal of these safeguards.

Jacob Fortinsky, CEO and co-founder of Novig, described the move as a necessary step to institutionalize trust within the sector. The exchange now prohibits marketing tactics that promise risk-free outcomes or target financially vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, the platform has implemented risk-based monitoring systems designed to detect patterns of compulsive behavior, such as rapid deposit spikes or habitual loss-chasing. These automated oversight mechanisms, which are subject to periodic review and CFTC disclosure, represent a pivot toward proactive regulation rather than reactive customer support. As Novig expands its footprint across the United States, these codified standards serve as a blueprint for compliance within the emerging landscape of regulated sports prediction markets.
