Insulet Investors Face August 31 Deadline in Securities Class Action

Investors holding Insulet Corporation securities purchased between February 21, 2025, and May 26, 2026, have until August 31, 2026, to seek lead plaintiff status in a class action lawsuit. The litigation follows two major medical device corrections involving systemic cannula manufacturing defects that allegedly caused insulin under-delivery.

The complaint centers on allegations that Insulet failed to maintain adequate quality control at its Acton, Massachusetts facility. Plaintiffs contend that cannula tears—occurring during the manufacturing process—prevented the Omnipod system from reliably delivering insulin, causing the medication to leak rather than enter the patient's body. These defects affected multiple product lines, including Omnipod 5, Omnipod Dash, and Omnipod Eros.

Financial impact on shareholders was significant, as Insulet’s stock price fell from approximately $236 to $146.01 following disclosures regarding the defects. The May 2026 medical device correction alone involved roughly 7 million Pods, representing about 8.5% of the company's 2025 global production. Attorney Joseph E. Levi, representing the plaintiffs, noted that the legal action challenges the company's claims of maintaining medical-grade manufacturing at a high-volume scale. Investors seeking to participate in the class action do not face out-of-pocket costs, as the case is handled on a contingency basis.
