Texas Woman Sues Victory Medical Center Pharmacy Over Tainted IV Infusion
Within minutes of receiving a routine wellness infusion in June, Amber DeeAnn Knowles suffered a medical emergency that required an ambulance and four days of hospitalization. A new lawsuit filed in Travis County claims her severe reaction was caused by compounded Glutathione later recalled for dangerous levels of bacterial endotoxin.
The legal action against Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, LLC, alleges that the Glutathione administered to Knowles on June 17, 2026, originated from Lot 1981940. Shortly after the injection, Knowles experienced uncontrollable shaking, a spike in blood pressure, and a prolonged QT interval. She remained under medical care until June 21, 2026.
On August 5, 2026, the pharmacy initiated a voluntary nationwide, patient-level recall of several Glutathione lots, including the one Knowles received. FDA documentation confirms that the recalled products contained elevated bacterial endotoxin levels, which carry risks of anaphylactic shock, severe inflammatory reactions, and potential death. Attorney John David Hart, representing Knowles, stated the firm is now seeking accountability for the incident, noting that his office is currently investigating similar reports from other patients who received products from the same facility.
