Silver Dollar City Announces Miner’s Mountain Express for 2027
A 15-story mining headframe will soon dominate the skyline at Silver Dollar City, signaling the arrival of the park's newest attraction. Miner’s Mountain Express, a family-oriented roller coaster opening in spring 2027, draws directly from the historical grit of the Ozarks and the real-life search for the secrets of Marvel Cave.

The ride is the centerpiece of a $150 million expansion that includes the launch of the Silver Dollar City Resort. Spanning over half a mile of track, the coaster features two lift hills and 15 moments of airtime during a three-minute, 18-second journey. Designed by MACK Rides, the attraction invites passengers to join a fictionalized expedition led by mining foreman Jedidiah Campbell, whose narrative arc focuses on the perseverance required to navigate the rugged terrain surrounding the park’s original Marvel Cave site.
Beyond the thrill mechanics, the project emphasizes historical immersion. The queue and surrounding Daredevil Pass area incorporate authentic equipment and weathered structures, grounded in the legacy of the 1880s Marble Cave Mining Company. With a minimum rider height requirement of 39 inches, the coaster is explicitly engineered to accommodate multi-generational groups. According to Brad Thomas, president of the Silver Dollar City Company, this investment represents a strategic shift toward establishing the park as a multi-day destination, blending the region's industrial heritage with modern family entertainment.
