New Tractor Trailer Step Design Aims to Improve Driver Safety
An Apple Valley truck driver has developed a retractable step system designed to eliminate the need for operators to climb onto cargo loads. The invention, dubbed HOOK UPS, provides a secure, compact platform for reaching high-mounted tie-down straps, addressing a common workplace hazard in the freight transport industry.
The device allows drivers to access elevated cargo areas without risking falls associated with stepping directly onto shifting or uneven freight. By providing a stable footing, the design minimizes physical strain and improves efficiency during the securing process. Its compact construction ensures the unit remains unobtrusive when not in use, making it a practical addition for fleet vehicles.
The concept is currently being represented by InventHelp, a Pittsburgh-based firm specializing in invention submission services. The company is actively seeking manufacturers or marketers interested in licensing or purchasing the technology, which is officially filed under reference number 25-SBT-2298.
