Jeff Mellios Tapped to Lead Payer Solutions at The SSI Group
The SSI Group has appointed industry veteran Jeff Mellios as Chief Payer Solutions Officer to oversee the company’s EDI clearinghouse operations and clinical data strategy. Based in Mobile, Alabama, the firm aims to bolster its support for health plans struggling with rising administrative burdens and the urgent shift toward real-time data exchange.
Mellios joins the organization with over three decades of experience in the health plan sector. Before this appointment, he served as Senior Vice President of Sales at HealthEdge. His career history includes leadership roles at Optum, Change Healthcare, and Altegra Health, where he focused on payment integrity, risk, and quality strategies.
At SSI, Mellios will manage the firm's payer-facing portfolio as health plans face mounting pressure from regulatory updates and complex transaction requirements. He emphasizes that modernizing operations through claims automation and digital quality measurement is essential for long-term resilience. According to Mellios, the core of his work will involve tailoring data exchange strategies to meet the specific operational maturity of each client, balancing current needs with five-year growth objectives.
