However, these digital refinements struggle to mask the physical reality of the hardware. Despite being slightly thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the phone retains a heavy chassis and a prominent screen crease that feels increasingly dated against the backdrop of 2026 industry standards.

Google has prioritized consistency over innovation, maintaining an aspect ratio that occupies a middle ground between Samsung’s stocky Z Fold 8 and the slender Z Fold 8 Ultra.
