BioLab Holdings Expands Wound Care Portfolio with mimiX AWC Partnership
Phoenix-based BioLab Holdings is integrating the FastSkin® Patch into its regenerative medicine lineup, aiming to provide clinicians with a portable, autologous solution for chronic wound management. The partnership with Florida’s mimiX AWC marks a strategic move to bring patient-specific, blood-derived therapies directly to point-of-care settings nationwide.
The FastSkin® technology functions as a portable alternative to traditional platelet-rich plasma and fibrin treatments. By utilizing a patient’s own blood to generate a bioactive tissue patch in roughly 10 minutes, the system eliminates the need for heavy capital equipment. This allows for clinical application in diverse environments, specifically targeting diabetic, pressure, and venous ulcers that have proven difficult to heal.
BioLab President and CEO Jaime Leija noted that the addition is designed to offer clinicians greater flexibility in treatment protocols. For mimiX AWC, the collaboration provides a broader commercialization network to distribute its science-driven, autologous solutions. The move aligns with BioLab’s ongoing strategy to aggregate advanced biologic and synthetic technologies into a single, comprehensive tissue restoration portfolio.
