Lupin Secures European Rights to Presbyopia Eye Drop YUVEZZI

Lupin Limited’s subsidiary, VISUfarma, has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Tenpoint Therapeutics to market and distribute YUVEZZI™ across the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Iceland. The deal grants the Indian pharmaceutical giant control over regulatory activities and commercialization for the once-daily, dual-agent presbyopia treatment.

Under the terms of the agreement, VISUfarma will secure exclusive rights to the ophthalmic solution, which combines carbachol and brimonidine tartrate to address the age-related loss of near vision. The partnership includes a strategic investment by VISUfarma into Tenpoint, alongside provisions for regulatory and commercial milestone payments and tiered royalties based on future net sales.

Vinita Gupta, CEO of Lupin, stated that the move is designed to bolster the company's specialty care strategy and expand its vision care footprint in European markets. For Tenpoint, the collaboration leverages VISUfarma's established presence in ophthalmology to accelerate the product's availability. While YUVEZZI™ has already received FDA approval for the U.S. market, Tenpoint has also initiated the regulatory process in the UK via the MHRA’s International Recognition Procedure.
