Benjamin Sutton Named Global Editor-in-Chief of The Art Newspaper
Benjamin Sutton has been appointed Global Editor-in-Chief of The Art Newspaper, the publication announced today. Sutton, who joined the organization in 2021 as Editor for the Americas, will now oversee the global editorial strategy for the publication, which remains a cornerstone of international art industry coverage.

During his tenure leading the New York office, Sutton successfully broadened the publication's reach into Canada and Latin America. His work included launching the outlet’s first bilingual English-Spanish project in Mexico City and managing editorial operations for high-profile industry events, including Art Basel Miami Beach and Frieze Los Angeles. As Global Editor-in-Chief, he is tasked with accelerating the brand's digital and multimedia growth while maintaining its long-standing reputation for independent reporting.
The Art Newspaper, founded in 1990, serves as a primary source for the international art market, providing analysis and news for major events ranging from the Venice Biennale to Art Week Tokyo. The appointment marks a transition in leadership for the outlet, which operates under The Generation Essentials Group, a subsidiary of the AMTD Digital conglomerate.
