The widening gap between AI deployment and human workforce readiness
Seventy-eight percent of organizations struggle to assess AI skills, as rapid technological adoption outpaces the ability of HR departments to define necessary human capabilities. New research from Talogy indicates that while AI is now automating work across major sectors, internal frameworks remain too generic to measure true AI fluency.

The study, surveying 207 senior HR leaders across the US and the UK, highlights a critical disconnect between current talent management systems and the practical demands of an AI-integrated workplace. While 87% of companies utilize standard assessment frameworks, most managers report these tools fail to capture the nuances of role-specific requirements or transferable skills. Only 38% of leaders feel genuinely prepared to overhaul traditional career paths to accommodate shifting job descriptions.
Beyond basic technical proficiency, which 48% of respondents identified as a priority, the focus is shifting toward human-centric capabilities. Data literacy, adaptability, and critical judgment—cited by 36% of leaders—are now considered essential for navigating AI-generated outputs safely. Dawn Curless, VP of Global Marketing at Talogy, noted that the industry is currently struggling to design frameworks that keep pace with the speed of AI integration. To bridge this divide, HR departments are demanding scientifically validated methodologies that integrate directly into existing technology stacks, moving away from broad assessments toward personalized, role-specific evaluations.
