Seoul-based skincare brand AXIS-Y is challenging industry standards by launching a recovery serum that replaces traditional salmon-derived PDRN with a plant-based alternative. The Triple PDRN Barrier Boost Serum utilizes DNA-inspired golden peptide threads to deliver concentrated nutrients, marking a shift toward high-performance vegan formulations in the competitive Korean beauty market.
The new formula centers on Golden Peptide Threads, which encapsulate NAD+, peptides, and a proprietary blend of triple berry PDRN sourced from blueberries, raspberries, and cranberries. By opting for plant-derived ingredients rather than animal-sourced materials, the brand aims to match the soothing and barrier-strengthening performance of conventional products without compromising its vegan certification. Clinical testing conducted by the Human Skin Clinical Trial Center Co., Ltd. recorded a 5.66% improvement in post-procedure skin soothing alongside a 17.47% boost in moisture barrier condition.
According to the company’s head of product development, the decision to avoid salmon-derived PDRN was intentional, prioritizing brand philosophy over manufacturing ease. The product is certified by the Korea Vegan Certification Institute and excludes all animal-derived ingredients or testing. Consumers can purchase the serum beginning August 24th, following the brand’s climate-inspired approach to skin health that tailors formulas to specific environmental and lifestyle factors.
