A 18.9% surge in gross merchandise volume helped Shanghai-based MRO platform ZKH Group Limited achieve its first-ever operating profit in the second quarter of 2026. The company reported a net profit of RMB 26.7 million, signaling a significant turnaround from the RMB 53.5 million loss recorded during the same period last year.

The company’s financial shift was driven by a 12.8% increase in net revenues to RMB 2.44 billion, bolstered by strong performance across core sectors including electronics, pharmaceuticals, and utilities. Gross profit climbed 20.3% year-over-year to RMB 429.6 million, with gross margins expanding by approximately 110 basis points to 17.6%. This improvement reflects the company's ability to scale operations while maintaining disciplined cost management, particularly in research and development and fulfillment.

ZKH is increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence to drive these efficiencies. Its newly launched "Domino" data engine and widespread deployment of AI agents have helped the company optimize its supply chain and reduce internal costs. The platform now operates a network of over 30 distribution centers and 109 warehouses, supported by more than 6,000 smart vending machines. As the company enters the second half of 2026, management expects this momentum to persist, supported by a robust balance sheet holding RMB 1.67 billion in cash and short-term investments.
