Galileo Robotics Debuts Galileo X at WRC 2026
At the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, Chinese firm Galileo Robotics introduced the Galileo X, a platform designed to collapse the distinctions between wheeled transport, off-road vehicles, and legged robots. The machine utilizes a unified control framework to manage movement across environments previously requiring multiple specialized devices.
The Galileo X functions as a general-purpose ground mobility system, integrating hardware and software architectures that typically remain siloed in modern robotics. By unifying kinematic models and control algorithms, the platform achieves the precision of an indoor AGV alongside the rugged traversal capabilities of a quadrupedal unit. This convergence allows the robot to handle heavy-duty off-road logistics, serve as a mobile chassis for humanoid systems, or perform autonomous inspections without the need for diverse, fragmented hardware fleets.
Galileo aims to reduce operational costs and maintenance complexity by replacing multi-device deployments with this single, versatile architecture.
