Agnico Eagle Takes Strategic Stake in Radisson Mining

Agnico Eagle Mines is moving to secure a foothold in Radisson Mining Resources, announcing a C$57.16 million private placement. The deal, slated to close in early September, grants the global gold producer a 10.45% stake in the junior miner, positioning Agnico Eagle to influence future development of Radisson’s mineral properties.

Under the terms of the subscription agreement signed August 24, 2026, Agnico Eagle will acquire 53.42 million units at C$1.07 apiece. Each unit includes one common share and half a warrant, with the latter exercisable at C$1.39 over the next five years. This capital injection provides Radisson with significant liquidity while offering Agnico Eagle a clear path to expand its holdings, potentially reaching a 14.90% interest on a partially-diluted basis.

Beyond the equity stake, the companies have outlined an investor rights agreement that cements Agnico Eagle’s influence. The gold giant secures the right to nominate board members and participate in future equity offerings to protect its ownership levels. Furthermore, the agreement imposes restrictive covenants on Radisson until the end of 2028, specifically limiting the junior miner's ability to dispose of assets or enter into royalty and streaming deals without oversight. Agnico Eagle stated the investment aligns with its broader strategy of targeting high-potential geological assets, though the company reserves the right to adjust its position based on future market conditions.
