Zide Launches Native Workspace for AI-Driven Development
Scottsdale-based startup Zide has unveiled its public beta, introducing a native desktop application designed to consolidate the fragmented coding workflow. By integrating Git, issue tracking, CI, and AI agents into a single interface, the tool seeks to eliminate the context-switching tax currently hindering modern software engineering teams.

Most current AI coding tools are constrained by the editor, leaving critical elements like pull requests, issue history, and CI logs in disconnected windows. Zide addresses this by providing a unified environment where the Zide Assist agent operates with full awareness of the entire project context. Built with Rust and Tauri, the application prioritizes performance over browser-based wrappers, ensuring responsiveness when managing large, complex codebases.
Founder Jim Bourke emphasizes that the true utility of AI in development lies in managing the end-to-end lifecycle—reviewing, testing, and deploying—rather than just generating snippets. To maintain flexibility, the platform is model-agnostic, supporting integration with Claude, Codex, and Gemini. It offers compatibility with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, allowing teams to avoid vendor lock-in. The software is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux, with a free tier for public repositories and paid plans starting at $10 per month for private repository access.
