New Framework Targets Intensive Student Behavioral Support
When standard Tier 3 behavior interventions fail to reach students in crisis, educators often find themselves without a clear path forward. Authors Jessica Djabrayan Hannigan and John Hannigan are addressing this gap with a new methodology designed to stabilize classroom environments through highly individualized, collaborative support strategies.

Their recently released book, Behavior Intensives: Individualized Interventions That Work!, introduces a 10-day structure tested in real-world school settings. The framework moves beyond reactive crisis management by providing teams with specific tools to identify high-need students and implement function-based interventions. The guide includes twenty function cards intended to help staff teach replacement behaviors, alongside practical scenarios that illustrate how to apply the 10-day process across diverse student needs.
Jessica Djabrayan Hannigan brings extensive experience in social-emotional learning and restorative practices to the project, while John Hannigan draws on two decades of service as a teacher, principal, and leadership coach. Together, they aim to shift school culture from emergency response toward systematic, confident action. The resource is currently available through the educational publisher Solution Tree, which continues to expand its library of over 600 titles focused on improving student achievement and professional development.
