Courtlin D. Fields Confronts Personal Ruin in New Stage Play

“The world only sees the crash, but the real fight begins in the silence after everyone walks away,” says cultural curator Courtlin D. Fields. Facing a period of intense financial and professional betrayal, the author is now translating his recent memoirs into a raw theatrical production titled Falling & Getting Back Up.

The project represents a departure from Fields’ previous work as an author and filmmaker, shifting the focus from polished branding to the visceral experience of rebuilding after total loss. Drawing from his 2023 memoir, Hating To Love My Life, and its 2025 follow-up, Learning To Love My Life, the play functions as both a creative outlet and a public reckoning. Fields describes the work as an attempt to capture the moment the dust settles on a collapsed life, moving past the adrenaline of survival to confront the reality of starting from zero.

Fields notes that he is currently assembling a creative team to translate these personal trials into dialogue. By positioning the production as an act of accountability rather than mere entertainment, he aims to document his transition from a victim of exploitation to an active participant in his own recovery. The play serves as a testament to his continued creative output, proving that despite recent setbacks, he remains committed to his trajectory in the arts.
