Wendy's Appoints Former McDonald's Executive to Lead Marketing
Tariq Hassan, formerly a top marketing executive at McDonald's, has joined The Wendy's Company as its first Chief Marketing and Customer Growth Officer. The appointment comes as the burger chain seeks to accelerate its turnaround plan and sharpen its competitive edge in the crowded quick-service restaurant industry.

Hassan brings over three decades of experience to the Dublin, Ohio-based company, having previously led customer experience and digital transformation efforts at McDonald's. His background includes repositioning consumer brands and using data-driven insights to boost loyalty and menu innovation. At Wendy's, he will report directly to President and CEO Bob Wright, joining the senior leadership team to oversee efforts to recapture the brand’s position as a quality leader.
"My focus will be on reigniting that passionate connection with our brand," Hassan said, noting the opportunity to reshape how the chain engages with customers. His arrival coincides with the departure of Lindsay Radkoski, the current Chief Marketing Officer for the U.S., who will assist in the transition over the coming weeks after a 15-year tenure with the organization. Wright described the change as a meaningful step toward returning the company to profitable growth, emphasizing the need for a leader who can bridge the gap between culture, technology, and consumer behavior.
