Holland America Adds Poolside Stages to Oosterdam and Zuiderdam

The poolside additions will host a rotating lineup of soloists and high-energy bands, serving as a focal point for sailaway parties and the cruise line’s signature Orange Party events. Because the Lido Pool areas feature retractable glass roofs, these performances will continue regardless of weather conditions, ensuring a consistent entertainment schedule throughout each voyage. The Oosterdam is slated to debut its new performance space following a scheduled transformation in the fall of 2027.

These enhancements represent a segment of the "Holland America Evolution" program, a $500 million investment targeting six Vista and Signature Class vessels. Beyond the new stages, the project incorporates design elements from the company's larger Pinnacle Class ships, including the addition of the Grand Dutch Café and updated stateroom configurations. Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, stated that the initiative is driven by guest feedback and a desire to distribute popular amenities more broadly across the fleet. Bookings for the refurbished vessels are currently open, allowing passengers to reserve space on the updated ships well in advance of their return to service.
