Tarkett Debuts Pearla Rubber Tile Collection
Tarkett is expanding its Johnsonite resilient flooring portfolio with Pearla, a new rubber tile line designed to mimic the classic aesthetic of terrazzo. The collection aims to balance high-end visual depth with the functional benefits of rubber, targeting high-traffic interiors that require low maintenance and improved acoustic performance.
The Pearla collection features a layered design of large-scale chips in 18 distinct colorways, ranging from neutrals to blues and greens. According to Omoleye Simmons, vice president of design at Tarkett, the tiles provide a dimensional look intended to replicate traditional stone terrazzo while maintaining the flexibility of rubber. Beyond the standard offerings, the flooring can be customized through the company’s Imaginations program to include brand-specific logos or unique insets.
Practical performance remains a primary focus for the new line. The non-PVC tiles are engineered for high indentation resistance and require no floor finish, which helps lower long-term maintenance costs. The material also offers ergonomic benefits, including slip resistance and underfoot cushioning designed to support joint comfort in busy environments. Produced in the USA, the collection holds Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver status and is Declare Red List Free, integrating into Tarkett’s ReStart recycling initiative.
