Travis Hendren Tapped to Lead CBX Solutions as CEO
Travis Hendren will take the helm at CBX Solutions on August 31, 2026, stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer. A veteran of the building products sector, Hendren brings three decades of experience to the Winston-Salem-based distributor, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Gypsum Management and Supply.
During his tenure at GMS, Hendren managed operations for over 440 combined distribution and retail sites across North America, overseeing a workforce of 7,000. His background includes a long stint in investment banking, where he focused on corporate strategy and mergers within the construction materials industry.
Christian Cook, who served as interim CEO and is a Managing Director at Platinum Equity, pointed to Hendren’s track record in scaling complex organizations as a primary driver for the appointment. Platinum Equity acquired a majority stake in the company, formerly known as Cook & Boardman, in 2023. Hendren’s arrival marks a shift in leadership as the firm looks to integrate its expanded service offerings in security and network systems across its national footprint of 100 locations.
