LG Previews World’s First 1000Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor
A 1,000Hz refresh rate, once limited to 720p hardware, is arriving at 1080p resolution. LG’s upcoming UltraGear 25G590B, a 24.5-inch IPS display, targets esports athletes requiring extreme responsiveness, marking a significant leap in panel capability that pushes past current 480Hz industry standards.
The monitor is scheduled for release in the second half of 2026. While LG has yet to confirm pricing or a precise launch date, the company emphasizes a minimalist design aesthetic paired with customizable lighting. Beyond the raw speed, the panel integrates on-device AI features intended to refine the user experience. This includes AI Scene Optimization, which adjusts picture settings based on game genre to enhance visual depth, and AI Sound, designed to clarify spatial audio and in-game communications when paired with compatible headsets.
While early technical documentation suggested the inclusion of a dedicated headset hook, LG issued a subsequent correction confirming that the feature is absent from the final design. The company maintains that the combination of high-frequency performance and software-based enhancements provides a specialized platform for competitive gaming environments.
