Curaleaf Escalates Hostile Bid, Accusing Aurora of Misleading Investors
Curaleaf Holdings has launched a scathing critique of Aurora Cannabis, labeling the company’s recent defense against a takeover bid as a collection of misleading statistics designed to mask years of stagnant performance and eroding shareholder value.

The standoff between the two cannabis giants intensified as Curaleaf dismissed Aurora’s claims of constructive engagement as hollow. Curaleaf contends that no substantive deal discussions have occurred, asserting that Aurora’s leadership has consistently refused to sign non-disclosure agreements or facilitate site visits. According to Curaleaf, the market has already signaled approval of the proposed acquisition, evidenced by a material rise in Aurora’s share price since the offer was first announced.
Curaleaf has directed investors to its own public filings, which highlight a sharp contrast in recent corporate health. While Curaleaf shares climbed approximately 56% over the past year, Aurora’s valuation dropped by roughly 35%. Curaleaf further challenged Aurora’s internal metrics, specifically disputing claims of international growth and questioning cultivation efficiency. With Aurora’s own guidance suggesting shrinking revenue and declining margins for fiscal 2027, Curaleaf maintains that its premium offer provides a necessary exit strategy for shareholders who have endured over C$400 million in inventory impairments and transformation costs under current management.
