Edelson Lechtzin Probes Asthma Center Data Breach
Patients of The Asthma Center are facing potential identity theft risks following a month-long security breach late last year. Philadelphia-based law firm Edelson Lechtzin LLP has launched an investigation into the incident, which exposed sensitive medical and personal records between October 28 and November 17, 2025.

The unauthorized network access compromised a wide array of patient data, including dates of birth, health insurance member numbers, and specific clinical treatment histories. The Asthma Center discovered the breach in November 2025 after identifying suspicious activity within its systems. While the practice has begun notifying those affected, the firm is currently evaluating whether a class action lawsuit is appropriate to pursue legal remedies for impacted individuals.
Legal experts advise those who received breach notifications to monitor their credit reports and account statements closely. The firm suggests that victims place fraud alerts on their files and retain all official correspondence related to the incident. Edelson Lechtzin LLP is offering free case evaluations for affected patients to determine if their specific information was part of the exposure.
