Ludient Debuts AI-Driven Sun Serum for U.S. Market

By analyzing over 5 million global skin data points, Ludient is moving AI beyond simple product recommendations and into the laboratory. The brand’s new Day Glow Sun Serum marks its first entry into the U.S. sunscreen category, blending broad-spectrum UV protection with a finish modeled on K-beauty standards.

Ludient developed the formula using its proprietary luluTI AI skin analysis technology, originally created by parent company lululab. Unlike traditional product development cycles that rely on market trends, the team used the AI to identify recurring dermatological concerns and translate that data directly into formulation priorities. The result is a lightweight serum intended to function as either a final skincare step or a base for makeup.

"AI should do more than just recommend skincare; it should help shape how products are developed in the first place," said Yongjoon Choe, CEO of lululab. This launch expands the brand's U.S. portfolio to four products, joining the RE-CODE Cream, Pore Refining Ampoule, and Radiance Glass Serum. The company, which originated as a Samsung Electronics C-Lab spinoff in 2017, focuses on clinical solutions for issues like compromised skin barriers and uneven tone. The full collection is currently available via the brand's website.
