Rocket Money Launches Rowan, an AI Agent That Acts on Your Finances
Instead of forcing users to navigate complex dashboards and static charts, Rocket Money’s new AI agent, Rowan, handles financial tasks through simple text messages. Powered by Anthropic, the tool monitors spending, cancels unwanted subscriptions, and manages savings transfers by executing commands directly in response to conversational instructions from the user.

Most personal finance applications remain passive observers, providing data that leaves the actual work of saving or canceling services to the consumer. Rowan shifts this dynamic by proactively identifying financial leaks—such as unused streaming trials or creeping bill costs—and offering to resolve them. If a user receives a text about an unused subscription and replies with a single word, the agent contacts the service provider to terminate the trial immediately.
Beyond basic cancellations, the system handles complex, multi-step instructions. A user can request to round up every coffee purchase to the nearest dollar and move the difference into a high-yield savings account; Rowan then automates that logic indefinitely. According to Aaron Dignan, VP of Agentic Products, the architecture represents a shift from merely tracking spending to actively managing it. The system utilizes a combination of adaptable AI agents for flexibility and rigid code for security, with human verification oversight. Currently available to select subscribers under a new Premium Plus tier, the tool is expected to see broader deployment by the end of the year.
