Michter’s leadership attributes the recognition to a production philosophy that prioritizes labor-intensive processes over short-term efficiency. Executive Vice President Matt Magliocco emphasized that the team focuses on variables within their control, specifically the quality of the liquid and sustained engagement with the trade. Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson noted that while the underlying chemistry of production is complex, the objective remains straightforward: creating a product that resonates with consumers. Master Distiller Dan McKee echoed this sentiment, describing the four-year winning streak as an achievement that exceeds his professional expectations.

Operations at the company extend well beyond its Shively distillery. The producer manages a 205-acre estate in Springfield for grain cultivation and maintains a secondary site at the historic Fort Nelson Building in downtown Louisville. This facility serves as both a production hub and a public-facing venue, housing the original Pennsylvania pot still system and a cocktail bar curated by spirits historian David Wondrich.
