Thirty years after the Food Quality Protection Act reshaped American agriculture, legal experts are gathering to analyze the law's legacy and the immediate pressures facing the industry. The first session on September 17, titled The Food Quality Protection Act at 30, brings together two key architects of the 1996 legislation. Former EPA Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention assistant administrator James Jones will join James V. Aidala to revisit the legislative consensus that defined modern pesticide oversight and discuss how those original tenets remain relevant in today's shifting policy environment.
