Veiga moves to California from Singapore, where he currently serves as Group Chief Information and Operations Officer at Standard Chartered Bank. His background spans major global markets, including executive roles at Amazon Web Services, Cisco, and Banco Santander. Rob Klausner, Chief Operating Officer at Capital Group, noted that Veiga’s expertise in large-scale organizational transformation is vital as the firm integrates data and artificial intelligence to refine its investment processes.

The transition comes as the firm prepares for its centennial in 2031. Managing $3.6 trillion in assets, the company aims to leverage Veiga’s technical fluency to support its global expansion. Veiga, who was born in Uruguay and raised in Spain, cited the firm’s long-term client-centric culture as a primary driver for his move, highlighting the current landscape where data capabilities are fundamentally altering standard operating models.
