U.S. GoldMining Advances Alaska Exploration Amid Congressional Interest
U.S. GoldMining has completed 5,000 meters of diamond core drilling at its Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska, marking a significant milestone in its 2026 exploration campaign. The progress coincides with a high-level congressional site visit aimed at evaluating the project's role in securing domestic critical mineral supplies.

The company’s drilling operations, currently utilizing two rigs, have successfully tested eight distinct targets within the Whistler Orbit area. Management reports that the program remains on schedule and within budget, with initial assay results expected in the coming weeks. Beyond the immediate core deposits, field crews are conducting regional mapping and sampling across the Snow Ridge, Long Lake Hills, Muddy Creek, and Island Mountain areas to identify future drill-ready targets.
This expansion strategy builds upon a March 2026 preliminary economic assessment, which projected an after-tax net present value of $2.0 billion for the Whistler site. To bolster the project’s profile, U.S. GoldMining recently hosted a delegation from the Western Caucus Foundation, including representatives Brian Babin, Celeste Maloy, Jeff Hurd, and Pete Stauber. The visit focused on integrating the Whistler Project into the state’s proposed West Susitna Access Road infrastructure, highlighting the site's potential as a cornerstone for regional mineral development and supply chain resilience.
